Dr. Thomas Sedran (48) has been appointed President and Managing Director of Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe, effective July 1, 2013.
Sedran has served as a member of the Opel/Vauxhall Management Board in charge of Operations, Business Development and Corporate Strategy since April 1, 2012.
„With more than 20 years of experience in the automotive business, Thomas will be key in driving the business and the long-term strategy for Chevrolet and Cadillac’s success in Europe,“ said Tim Lee, GM Vice President, Global Manufacturing, and President, International Operations. „We thank him for his outstanding work at Opel/Vauxhall and for taking the lead at Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe.“
Sedran said: „I’m looking forward to overseeing GM’s two iconic global brands, Chevrolet and Cadillac, here in Europe. Chevrolet has introduced 15 new or upgraded models in the past three years. With the recent introduction of the Trax and the upcoming Corvette Stingray, Chevrolet has one of the freshest portfolios in the industry. Cadillac is entering new segments, with the ATS giving us the opportunity to win new customers for the brand.“
Sedran will succeed Susan Docherty, who has elected to leave General Motors after 27 years with the company to spend time with her family.
