KS Kolbenschmidt GmbH’s Large-Bore Piston unit has repeated its success of the previous year and, for the second time now, has received the Supplier Quality Excellence Process (SQEP) Gold award from Caterpillar, the construction equipment and engine manufacturer. The award was handed over to the Large-Bore Piston team in Neckarsulm on June 22 by Wolfgang Roth, Quality Engineer, Suppliers, at Caterpillar in Kiel.

Caterpillar is awarding this distinction to KS Kolbenschmidt for its 100-percent ontime delivery and quality. Specifically, this means that last year there was not a single complaint. „For us, this Gold award is a great honor and a special appreciation of the teamwork involved,“ says Wolfgang Hartmann, Head of the Large-Bore Piston unit. „The fact that we have now received the award for the second year running endorses the continuously high quality of our products and services. In fact, we have only managed to achieve and maintain this level by working very meticulously at every stage, from order intake to product delivery. This is true of both production and administration.“

Over the past years, the Large-Bore Piston unit has made significant improvements in both delivery performance and reduction of complaints. And this is how we want things to stay. „The award is an incentive for us to maintain this high quality standard in the production of our pistons,“ adds Hartmann.
